#1 piece of advice
Organizing is hard.
Knowing where to start or how to start or what to prioritize can be super overwhelming. Especially if it’s a space that’s been neglected for a while. That’s why most people end up living in the chaos because we kinda convince ourselves we are okay with it. We’ve all been there. Especially if you are running a household, chasing after kids, working, supporting others etc. Big projects take mental capacity. If you are responsible for any or all of those, chances are you have zero energy to put towards organizing your pantry with 40 glass containers and cute labels.
I get it. Even as someone who loves to do this, there are times I look at a project and have no idea where to begin. So if I feel that way…. I am sure others do too.
My biggest piece of advice to anyone who’s determined to tackle their project is to start small. Do it one chunk at a time. Organize one pantry shelf. Declutter one section of your closet. Pick 2 out of the 20 boxes from your basement (that have been there since you moved in) to go through. Break your massive project into little tasks that are actually do-able in a day or weekend.
This way you’ll actually feel like you accomplished something. Which then helps motivate you to do another little section, and then another and then before you know it you’ve made huge progress. Its also easier to organize in an organized space. Seems stupid to say, I know, but hear me out. Your tackling the second shelf in your pantry and since the first one is already organized, you can quickly add and move things around between both. Each task actually becomes easier and faster to do. Plus you begin to get the hang of it.
Start small and don’t over think it. If you end up knee deep in a crisis, you know who to reach out to. :)
